From our deepest selves, we thank you friend, for being here. We invite you to open your hearts, to leave behind old beliefs about education, and embark on this new journey with us.
Our website is an invitation to reflect on other possible teaching methods and structures, teacher\student relationships, and the way we view children, the environment, society, and especially ourselves. Each one of you, even trought the power wich own or the enthusiasm with the subject, have the opportunity to make history, to participate and to help a reference school education in Brazil, and thus inspire other communities, cities and governments to do the same: to change the education paradigm, allowing children to experience their genuine nature, talents, and potential by giving them a favorable environment to develop and become autonomous, self-directed adults capable of being responsible for their own lives, harmoniously, intellectually, and emotionally. These are our future leaders. The power and opportunity to create a new perspective on education is in our hands, and through this platform we will share the details for this project, making this an initial step to becoming a reality: ESCOLA AYNI.
Ayni is being created to become a beacon of light, a reference, a model school, that inspires local and state governments to adopt new educational practices in public schools. This is Ayni's main purpose of existence: help make a change in schools that already exist, not only create new ones.
Another important goal: to be a space of reference on sustainability and harmony with nature, and above all, a place of transformation. This new educational practice begins with a new way of living for us adults, a new perspective on the world, on life, and consequently, a different way of relating with our children.
Everything we want to change in our country, in our society, 'outside of ourselves', is there, fulfilling an important role, a role to be honored throughout our evolutionary path as a species, as a civilization, as spirits. All that we consider bad a corrupt ruler, a flawed educational system, an unjust economic model, a failed relationship pulses within us, throbbing like an alarm pleading for attention. It calls to us, 'look at me, recognize me, realize that you no longer need me anymore', that you can now move forward and have new learning experiences. The universe presents us with mirrors so that, gradually, we become aware that change is internal. This is our vision for this new education, one that we fondly wish to share and bridge with that which is and what can be.
Everything is connected. As Hermes Trigmegistus once said, 'As above, so below, as within, so without'. Humans that are aware of their need for an inner journey, to improve upon themselves, to recognize their shadows, to be masters of their own lives, will naturally express a new reality in all pillars of society. All that there is, is an expression of the absolute, the one, the whole. Plato said that no one can govern a nation, if not rule himself. And so I link this to education. This new education starts long before a new teaching approach, pedagogy or choice, if it is right to focus on the student or teacher. This new education parts from where all changes begin: a human being that feels connected to the whole, that feels intimately responsible for all that surrounds him or her. And while naturally connected, realizes that he should just let things and people simply be. And so, we begin to put this into practice and express one of the faces that we have come to learn: love, non-control (¿¿¿), letting free, letting be.
If we feel honored and connected to nature, let nature flow it`s course, if we feel connected and honor the animals, let them be as they are, and very importantly, if we perceive ourselves as part of the same divine and spiritual family, experiencing and searching to evolve together, be grateful and honor all humans, starting with the children. And so, we let the children be, for what are children if not our teachers in a spiritual expression in this realm, geniuses, tiny 'Buddhas', 'Christs', Da Vincis, Mozarts.
The new educator is a new kind of human being, one that trusts and has faith and courage to accept losing control, one who knows that children will learn what is right for them and that everything is replete with wisdom and perfection. This new educator understands how sacred he is, and is grateful for being here, and so, honors the children as well. He allows them to express their nature, their purpose as spirits, aware of their existence, and becomes a guardian of the places where these children come together to experiment, to play, to learn, and express themselves. Look at yourself, find your self, be at peace and express this state of equality that surrounds you.
